Shape the future by building it
Building Italy’s next integrated solar and AI infrastructure platform
Z-Energie’s roadmap is built around two complementary growth engines: large-scale solar power plants and next-generation Gen-AI data centers. Over the next decade, the company aims to scale to 250 MW of solar and 30 MW of data center capacity by 2030, and to 1 GW of solar and 100 MW of data center capacity by 2035.
By combining renewable generation with power-intensive digital infrastructure, Z-Energie is creating a platform designed to deliver low-cost green electricity, lower carbon impact, and long-term energy resilience for Italy’s fast-growing digital economy.
2026–2027: Laying the foundation
The first phase focuses on establishing the Italian platform, securing near-term projects, and creating the operating structure for scale. Z-Energie’s current solar pipeline already provides early visibility, with 36 MW identified, including 17 MW under development and 19 MW of Ready-to-Build projects targeted for acquisition by the end of Q1 2026. First commercial operations are expected between Q4 2026 and Q1 2027.
To launch the roadmap, the company targets an initial step of 50 MW of solar capacity and 5 MW of Gen-AI data center capacity, supported by €30 million of total funding to unlock bank leverage and accelerate project execution.
2028–2030: Scaling operations
The second phase is focused on turning pipeline into operating assets. In solar, Z-Energie plans to scale through merchant projects, medium-to-large plant sizes, RTB acquisitions, centralized procurement, and strong local partnerships. In data centers, the strategy is based on modular co-location facilities powered by nearby renewable assets from Z-Energie’s own energy pipeline.
By 2030, the roadmap targets 250 MW of solar in operation and 30 MW of data center capacity, representing around €190 million invested in solar and €400 million in data centers, with annual revenues of approximately €30 million and €80 million respectively.
2031–2035: Reaching national scale
In the final phase, Z-Energie expands into a national-scale platform. Solar capacity is expected to reach 1 GW by 2035, while data center capacity rises to 100 MW. At full scale, the roadmap points to around €650 million invested in solar and €1.7 billion in data centers, with annual revenues reaching €125 million for solar and €450 million for data centers.
A platform designed for long-term value
The model is designed to combine the high margins of renewable generation with the strong cash generation of digital infrastructure. The plan projects around 85% EBITDA margin for the PV business and around 65% EBITDA margin for the data center business. From 2032 onward, EBITDA is expected to exceed debt service in both business units, strengthening long-term financial sustainability as the platform matures.
This roadmap is more than a capacity plan. It is the build-out of an integrated energy and digital infrastructure platform designed to power Italy’s next wave of growth — from the first 50 MW solar / 5 MW data center phase to a long-term platform of 1 GW of solar and 100 MW of AI-ready data center capacity.
